Electric vehicles are taking over the market, and pretty much every month we see a new EV from a major manufacturer. Yet still, many people (including myself) are very skeptical about the longevity of battery packs, actual impact on the environment, and the charging infrastructure.The Niro Plug-In hybrid, technically solves my last concern, being equipped with an internal combustion engine and an 11.1 kilowatt hour battery, offering up to 33 miles of all-electric range.

Quickly about the new Niro - it’s a second generation of Kia's compact crossover offered in 3 variants: hybrid, plugin hybrid and as a fully electric vehicle. The new model is slightly longer and wider, benefiting the cabin space and all versions received bigger battery packs. The design is also much more aggressive compared to the predecessor and whether you like it or not, you can’t deny that it stands from the crowd and doesn’t look generic.

Others to consider are a Toyota RAV4 Prime, Hyundai Kona, Subaru Crosstrek, Honda Insight, or a Toyota Prius.

Solid car. I am incredibly happy with my 2019 Niro PHEV. PHEVs are truly the best of both worlds. I only spent $160 on gas for the entire year, because I was able to run mostly on electric, and the majority of one's driving can be done on the PHEV battery.

Great packing and great evolution on the original. I was always a fan of Kia’s simplistic and European styled interiors but their new gen of cars is moving away from that.
