Your interpretation is spot on. The harsh first part depicts the society's view of a homeless man. As you said, the softer parts look at the homeless with more compassion. This is a staple of classic rock radio. Love your channel!

The eye of the beholder. Brilliant example of seeing things from both perspectives.

This is one album that NEEDS to be listened to in its entirety to really absorb its brilliance.

Nice reaction. Tull was my first concert in 1972-73 and was the first time I ever took LSD. I had a great night and was told the concert was good also. I remember the bass player was dressed in zebra stripes. lol Trippy night.

I love Jethro Tull. Great reaction and breakdown. You've got to see some of their live performances like Locomotive Breath among many.

Martin Barre's guitar solo is really one of the good ones. Outstanding reaction

Jethro Tull is one of my favourite bands & Aqualung being an amazing album.
When asked about it being a concept album, Ian Anderson answered: "Three or four songs do not a concept album make." - taken from the British program (2001) Bill Bailey's "Top Ten" - Prog Rock.
👍Great reaction 👍
n.b. There's a great little video of Tull playing "Bouree", I believe on French TV.

The way Clive Bunker batters away at the drum kit 🥁 is my favorite part of this song. 🎸

The live performances are very theatrical and entertaining. The sound quality from their studio recordings exceptional. "Minstrel in the Gallery" is one of my favorites.

The first real concept album by them is the album after this "Thick as a Brick", which is a masterpiece. Then they did "Passion Play" which was another concept album by them.

For the best experience you should really listen to the whole album. Locomotive Breath; Cross Eyed Mary. Every song is 🔥This is the only song where Ian Anderson doesn't play flute. Every member of this band is just too notch. There's really no musicianship like this anymore.

Some groups allow individuals to mostly figure out their own part, people like Ian Anderson and Frank Zappa wrote the parts for every instrument, then would allow input from the other members. Paul McCartney did that a lot too, he would write each part then send to everyone else to learn.

PART II 😁 "Feeling like a dead duck. Spitting out pieces of his broken luck"! Freaking Awesome! ☯️☮️

you really had to be there. 50+ years have passed, and this still sounds like nothing else.

Musically, lyrically, vocally a masterpiece. Often overlooked...that bass line is fantastic!

No matter how many times I hear this, I love it every time. It evokes a place and time that I hold very dear. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. What a great way to start the day! Thanks again Saeed! 🙂

I just knew it would blow your mind! Loved your reactions! We named our 42 year old son Ian for Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson! ❤

That opening riff is so iconic that the radio ads for the following tour played the riff and then the announcer said, "Guess who's coming to Rochester"?

JT. has always had quality musicians top to bottom. Ian is awesome on his own, but he always surrounded himself w/ real music loving artist.
