By placing the seat tilt controls in the trunk, it increases security against theft. If thieves break a window, they can not tilt the seats to access the trunk.

While there is no kick sensor for the trunk, there is an option you can enable in the infotainment that if you approach the car for the rear and stay at the rear for 3 seconds, it will open automatically without needing to press the button.

If you walk up to the trunk with the key fob it'll open by itself. You have to enable it in the settings first though.

Why oh why, they didn't make it a lift back?

I gather the reasoning behind the seat latches being in the trunk is that you unlatch the seat and then use whatever item you’re loading to push the backrest down. The other reason might be to prevent the car burglars accessing the trunk from the cabin. That would of course need that the trunk opening button can be disabled when the car is locked and you’d need the fob to enable it.

I would really like to know if I can fit my bicycle through that tiny trunk opening, I have room for it in my much smaller Ioniq 28 kWh because of the big hatch

Have you planned a day for the 1000km test for this car? Thanks for all the videos you create.

Which car would I get? M3 or I6? I ordered my Ioniq 6 a month ago 🙂

Ionic 6 Russ bus edition with massive speakers.

Both Model 3 and Ionic 6 could solve so many problems by just being fastbacks with a hatch rear... They already have the shape to implement it. Standard sedan trunks don't cut it anymore.

Our 2014 Jetta has the same seat release levers in the trunk. 🇨🇦

Choice between cars, Hyundai because the charge port is on the right side which is the right side, has to be the drivers side as Bjørn always says. UK 🤣

Love all of these banana boxes test. Would love to see test to fit big box or cooler or similar. How difficult due to small opening.
