I got tired of getting whacked by what I know is a dubious opening so I watched your video last night, and got to practice it right away today. My opponent did not take on b4 (after lengthy deliberation), however I was able to build so much tempo and so many threats that they did not last long. I eventually forked their queen with a discovered check and they resigned shortly after (17 moves).

What about if black don't move their bishop

The whole idea hinges on the opponent falling into a trap. The whole Idea of the scandinavian defense is to keep your queen out of harms way, so White don't get those get those dangerous moves with tempo by threatening your queen. That is why in the main line you either goes to a5 or d6 and plays the pawn to a6 (to deny the knight the chance of attacking d6). Also is the reason why you usually plays pawn to c6, to get your queen out of the way in the least amount of danger.

So the whole idea of opening a file that white's rook is going to occupy and having a pawn hanging in the 7th file... people should be painfully aware that is too dangerous to take the pawn at b5. People should expect that whites are looking to play their exposed queen against them.

I didn't find this, I used an engine, but for anyone who is wondering what the move at the end is, it's Nc4 trapping the queen XD

this works so well! I was versing a person and after pressuring his queen with his knight, he played his queen pawn! I took his queen! He then moved his bishop into my knights sight and I also took it! I went back in the middle and forked his king and rook! He is a 900 elo player! This works so well!!!

If in case the opponent's (black piece) move it's bishop from f8 to e7, the white knight should move from e5 to c4. Then checkmate for the black queen. Quiz answered.

Cheking this out after losing 2 games in a row to scandinavian defense as white.The thing is both games I had better computer valuations almost entire games. But sucked at managing time and finding the kill. I guess this means I need some theory so thanks for this video.
