- How to make water pie.
The Great Depression from 1929 to 1939 was a devastating decade that brought more hardship than most of us can imagine.
Many didn't survive. For those that endured the starvation, unemployment, panic, violence, and extreme mental stress, finding ways to feed their families was a constant challenge.
It wouldn't take long for food staples to be completely depleted. Such as sugar, flour, and butter.
For those lucky enough to still have these food items for a time, they managed to come up with recipes to make life a little more bearable, such as WATER PIE.
-NO ROLL CRUST- MIXED IN THE PIE PAN
Ingredients
All purpose Flour - 2 cups
Granulated Sugar - 2 tablespoons
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Water - 3 tablespoons
