to be fair to the kid who doesn’t much like pumpkins, you mainly taste the spice blend in pumpkin pie. Without that, pumpkin would taste a lot like butternut squash.

“It’s exquisite” that’s a big compliment from a Brit I’d say as an American lol. I don’t like plain pumpkin either, but absolutely love pumpkin pie, donuts, muffins etc. because they all have sugar and many spices so it’s not overwhelmingly plain pumpkin.
