Great video - I picked up my Maverick Lariat Hybrid with Lux package this week and I must say I have concerns about the braking. I will give the "L" button a try.

I love the honesty of this Video, also how calm she is driving in the snow . I live in Wyoming and I ordered a XTL Lux Hybrid . I feel way better about my choice now. Thank you very much and I'm glad you guys got yours .

I have been following the hybrid version before i receive mine and here what hybrid owners are experiencing. When starting and idling wth heater on and defrost on.. you can smell egg coming from the engine and exhaust and the catalytic converter is glowing red and the engine rev is fluctuating. It happen when the engine is cold and you are simply starting it and put heater and defrost and idling for 5 mi to warm up the vehicle (like you would do with any car) . Another issue people have reported is shuddering at low speed in electric mode. Apparently when you are taking off the hybrid version might shudder for 3 seconds. As if you are running on those bumpy strips on the highway .. or if you are trying to to run third gear way too soon when driving a standard vehicle (manual shifting). Another complain concern rattling noise coming from the dash near the A pillar. Very hard to pin point.. apparently some plastic hit something near the windshield .

Overheating catalytic, glowing red when idling with defrost and heater on
Shudder at slow speed
Rattling noise in the dash.

All these symptoms happen with the hybrid….

Got my hybrid Maverick Lariat lux package 3 weeks ago and love it. Over 40 mpg going back and forth to work each day. Great ride and great interior!

I have had my Hybrid Maverick for about a month now and 1800 miles, I am loving it. I like the Orange, it’s my favorite color, when I saw the XLT interior over the XL or the Lariat. I have done a couple 2+ hour trips on the Freeway at 70-75 mph and was averaging 33-34 mpg, on my daily commute of 36 miles at 60-65 mph I am averaging 35-36 mpg. I really like the handling, its smooth, comfortable. I have run it in Sport mode a few times and it really wakes up the mid range throttle response. Has plenty of power for passing, gets great fuel mileage, rides and handles great, everything I was wanting in a smallish truck.

For those that do not know, the stock radio sounds great but not on radio mode. For some reason the sound coming from the speakers while on radio the highs and lows sound muffled even though it's HD radio. However, if you play music through Pandora or any other streaming service the radio comes ALIVE.

I'm pleased with how the hybrid handles the snow my wife can't wait for hers to come I stopped by the dealership Monday they of course don't know how much longer it will be but said they figured by July since that's when ford will start taking orders again and he also confirmed that I'm locked in at msrp

A needed comparison for the hybrid: MPG on nice, no HVAC needed days compared to extreme hot or cold days. You need the engine for the HVAC, especially the heat. I would think that in the dead of winter there MPG goes down. I don't know. Just wondering out loud.

I am on 4 months on an XLT, Lux AWD and have found the stereo fine, I don't need to rattle the windows. The seats are comfortable also. The ride with snow tires is a bit harsher than the OEM tires, snow is pretty much gone now.

Premiere first reviews made in quebec. My maverick hybrid is 100% scheduled and should be delivered in first week of may, mine will be xlt blue, with sunroof and copilot. Price will come down to $ 42k canadian taxes in. I live in montreal. Le mien remplacera un wrangler unlimited que j'utilise pour apporter ma famille dans les montagnes les weekends. With this maverick hybrid i am hoping to do some light offroading. Not heavy trail but still harsh enough a honda civic or a prius would fail or break apart. Hopefully the mavrick hybrid can offroad better than any sedan. You didn't show the tonneau though, is this the hard roll up? I did not order the tonneau because i wanted to maximize my chance to receive my hybrid. I will install it later. You didn't show the bed.. Is your bed liner the hard drop in or the sprayed.. i will receive the hard drop in, again because that's what comes with the deluxe package. The only thing i hate for canadian is that the leather trim for the xlt hybrid is not available in Canada and i wanted the leather so much.. it is a big sacrifice i had to make.. tabernak… i will have to look for aftermarket leather cover with airbags approuved. 
I am also wondering where the catalyc converter is located, because here in our belle province we ate the champion of catalyc converter theft. Probably not as much in sherbrook but here in montreal up to mont tremblant its worst than covid. Anyway i only presume marie is your gf and you work for a car dealer. Because i would never drive with a big logo on the door. But thanks for the review, un ptit salut de montreal

@Johnny Did you put snow tires on all four or just the front? Thank you for this review. I was wondering how the hybrid would do in the snow. I was thinking I needed the AWD since I live in the country on a hill in NY, but after watching this video the FWD should do just fine.

I assume that when you put it in L it goes in a lower gear. And I wonder what will happen to your fuel economy if you drive like that over longer distances? Does the XLT have automatic temperature control? And did you say you guys have real winter tires on your Maverick?

In case you didn't hear today that Ford last night sent out a lot of emails to Maverick and Mach E customers that were not even scheduled yet saying there will be a delay in the production of what they ordered. It may have gone out for more than just those two models. We didn't get one for our Lincoln Nautilus scheduled to be produced in 3 weeks.

Just got an e-mail from Ford, somewhat cryptic, implying that my build is further delayed; but at this point, since my order date is 8-30-2021, I was glad to get the communication that indicates my order hasn’t completely fallen through a crack! BTW, I must say that watching and listening to MP makes me want to learn French…er…uh….at least have some French Fries! She is so lovely, and such a great partner! Keep on truckin’ youse!
