Pigmentary disorders are one of the most difficult conditions to treat especially in my patients who are skin of color (African Americans, Native Americans, Latinos/Latinas and Asians).
Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for another thoughtful, informative video Dr. Sugai. My mixed heritage and history of unprotected sun worship have resulted in some pretty significant challenges as I age. I've learned so much from you and sincerely appreciate both your knowledge, ability to deliver great content informed by both experience and research and to top it all off, I love your sense of humor!

I love this content, I have been using targeted skin care for hyperpigmentation I like it, but I find it's lightening my whole face, I like my dark skin, it's not bleaching but it's brightening a bit much, also can you do a video on safely removing facial hair for darker skin.

I'm German/ Irish with darker skin 😂😂 more Irish acording to family history
So 70s child never wore sun screen. I do have dark spots but no wrinkles ! GENETICS ARE THE BIGGEST FACTOR

Thank you dr Sugai for this video. I have melasma on my face (forehead and cheeks) and I have watched tons of video about it. In most of them people will emphasis on sunscreen which is of course a good way to not worsen it. But very few people are giving tips to improve the skin itself. One tip which makes a huge difference for me is aloe vera.
Aloe vera is the super ingredient against burns and the area affected by melasma (on my skin at least...) seems to lack hydratation.
Putting only sunscreen on a dehydrated melasma prone skin is to me not enough.
