Patients at BC Children’s Hospital were delighted by a visit today with one of the world’s most famous pirates, Captain Jack Sparrow. Hollywood actor Johnny Depp arrived at the hospital dressed dread to toe as his character from “The Pirates of the Caribbean” movie franchise. The charismatic character charmed patients and their families alike, leaving smiles and laughter in his wake during his 5 1/2 hour visit.

Johnny Depps daughter contracted a deadly ECOLII infection in 2007 which left her bedridden and on the verge of death for 9 days in a children's hospital.
He used to dress in his costume and entertain her and the kids in the ward in his free time to cheer himself and her up, and she luckily made a surprising recovery after doctors said it was fatal. Now anywhere he travels to, he keeps his Jack Sparrow costume and heads to nearby children's hospitals, the first time is where he read a book to children while fully in character.
