Floor press is a good alternative to bench pressing if you have shoulder pain but honestly i would always do bench version if you can, you dont seem to lose allot range of motion in the floor press due to your realative short arms ( even for your height ) for me when i do the floor press the bar doesn't even get close to touching my sternum like you do in the video soo for tall / people with lengthy arms like me maybe something like ring weighted push ups or dips can be better has an alternative, even something like a seated plate loaded machine press can be ok in some cases if your shoulders hurt doing regular bench

I had shoulder issues and did something similar to fix it where I would just do a pin press to avoid overstretching.

My shoulders feel good, i start to get a tight pain in my right lat area from pressing. That's because i feel i have perfect form with very little weight.

I exclusively do floorpress as my horizontal press movement. Chest is my dominant muscle group so the floorpress allows me to develop my upper body far more evenly and builds my poverty arms.

Last i checked my reverse grip was stronger than my normal bp, and even you acknowledged that revrse grip isnt inherently a weaker movement than the regular bp

Warning!! Don't do what I did. I just started doing Andy Baker's conjugate program. So far it's awesome. I did a floor press for the first time ever and even though he warned his clients that they should make sure they have a safety, I still did the floor press without a safety. 🤦🤦🤦Being stuck under A weight you can't lift it is not fun!! I was legitimately scared. I hadn't prayed that hard in quite a while LOL

I have fitness reality rack so I can't really put safeties in an ideal place for a for press, but there's 3 things I will definitely do next time.
1. Have forty-fives instead of thirty-fives on the bar so that they can be closer to the ground.
2. Put a plate on the floor on my left and on my right under the plates on the barbell so the plates are even "closer to the ground".
3. Put the safeties as close as possible to the ideal place so i don't have lift one side of the barbell as high in case i fail a rep.
