If the scientists kept zooming in they’d see the Wu-Tang logo

To be clear, this is not correct. The yin yang was one of several sample images used in a quantum imaging experiment. Not entirely joe’s fault since most of the media that picked up the story completely misrepresented the actual research that this image is sourced from, but just so everyone is aware, it is misinformation to say quantum entanglement “looks like a yin yang”

(Read the replies for further explanation)

Edit: to be clear, yes joe Rogan should be criticized for not fact checking information he spews to his large uncritical audience. I just meant for this particular topic, almost every article on the topic said this exact same (incorrect) thing which makes it very difficult for audiences to fact check since so many popular science communicators parroted the same incorrect information. These publications that allow and encourage writers to spew sensational nonsense to farm clicks are also responsible and need to be held accountable for reducing public understanding and trust in actual scientific research.

That's not even how quantum entanglement works. Being entangled doesn't mean they are physically connected to each other or in close proximity. Two quantum particles can be entangled while being 50 million light-years apart. The cool part is that what you do to one particle instantaneous affects its entangled counterpart no matter how far away they are.

So which one was it : protons or photons?

They used Quantum Entanglement to create the Yin-Yang symbol.

There is actual recent studies into how anesthesia works, it’s noted that neurons aren’t effected as much, but instead a similar brain structure that interacts with quantum particles. It’s all fairly recent so take it with a grain of salt. I find it fascinating that we’re using anesthesia without fully understanding how it makes us unconscious

For everyone who thinks this just happened by chance or naturally here's the explanation.

The researchers encoded the yin-yang symbol onto the pump beam photons, which were then superimposed with reference photons. The resulting interference pattern, captured by a high-precision camera, formed the yin-yang image. This experiment showcases the potential of biphoton digital holography to reconstruct the wave function of entangled photons in real-time, which has significant implications for quantum technologies like quantum computing and quantum cryptography.

And here's the explanation of Biphoton Digital Holography.

Let's say you have a camera-shy friend, and you want to know what the two of you would look like in a picture together. But you can't convince them to pose for a picture. So, you find someone that looks exactly like them and take a picture with them instead.

Well now, hold yer horses, partner! What ya heard 'bout that yin-yang ain't exactly hittin' the mark. That there yin-yang was just one of a heap o' sample images used in some fancy-schmancy quantum picture-takin' experiment. Ain't all Joe's fault though, seein' as how them media folks got it all tangled up and misrepresented the real deal 'bout that image. Just so's we’re clear, it's downright wrong to go sayin' quantum entanglement looks like a yin-yang.

(Go on an' read them replies for more clarity, ya hear?)

Now, to be straight as an arrow, yeah, ol' Joe Rogan oughta get a good scoldin' for not checkin' his facts before spoutin' off to his big ol' herd of listeners. But 'bout this here topic, dang near every article out there was singin' the same wrong tune, makin' it mighty tough for folks to fact check on account of all them popular science folks just echoin' the same nonsense. These publications that churn out this sensational claptrap to rustle up clicks need to be held responsible for muddlin' up public understanding and trust in real-deal scientific research.

I mean, when you flush a toilet, it might look like a Ying-Yang is created in celebration of a job well done as well. 😂

I’m gonna go ahead and assume there’s a lot more to this that detracts from how cool he made it sound… time for a Google search

Edit: yeah I was right. This was entirely misleading. Too hard for me to explain, but basically the media misinterpreted what was going on here. There’s a guy called Anton that explains it.
