What Could Minecraft Copper Do?

Minecraft is finally adding copper to the game! We know it's gonna have some cool new aging mechanics, but what else could copper do?

This is what we need. The idea itself needs some tweaking, sure, but it’s so much better than people saying we need copper armor just for the sake of having a new tier of armor. At this stage in the game, Mojang has no reason to add tiers of armor or tools without giving them special uses, like netherite where it doesn’t burn in lava. If you just add a new tier with nothing to differentiate it from the other tiers, there’s no point. We already have the established system, so you have to give extra tools and armor a use outside of that for people to actually want to use them

Mojang: *Adds a neat decorative block with aging properties*
Sarc: *Creates a parallel tech tree*
Seriously though, this is a really cool idea. Maybe the copper blocks would carry less energy the more they aged, so a fresh block would keep 100% of the energy, a half-aged block would carry 50%, and a fully-aged block would carry barely any. This would create the need for maintenance over time in order to keep everything running.

"It's one of the most useful materials known to man. So It'd definitely be a shame if Minecraft didn't do it Justice!"
Almost a full 2 years later and Copper is still the most useless thing ever. How Ironic.

If Minecraft never sees this someone at least has to make a mod

I really like this "Netherite magnetism" idea most of all of these ideas.

If Mojang doesn’t pick this up, please please PLEASE let this be a mod

This is basically a beacon but in armor. You can’t go far, but when you’re near it, you’re unkillable.

Imagine if when a lighting struck you while wearing the armor it goes "Overdrive" for a little amount of time

When this inevitably doesn’t happen, can we get a mod maker to make this real?

Both copper and amethyst feel incredibly underbaked. Both have like two uses that aren't really all that necessary, with copper having the bonus of being a building block.

I believe the arguments presented to be viable and not only logistically possible, but one of the best ways I have seen to improve major parts of the game without sacrificing difficulty and playability. Well done.

A good idea to charge the “charged copper armor” would be if you had carpeting and gain small amounts of static electricity as you go throughout your base!

What about making copper a redstone enhancer? Like adding copper to redstone imbued craftable items (i.e. powered rails, pistons, dispensers, etc.) makes the items produce a greater affect. Adding copper to a powered rail could increase the speed, a piston can push and pull more blocks, and a dispenser can shoot items further and with more force. What if copper and redstone could be used together to craft something like a rechargeable battery? Add the battery to a boat and it moves faster; same with minecarts. Elytra with a battery no longer needs rockets and allows for similar flying that is in creative. Just some ideas
