Hi Spencerfield . I recently acquired my first 3 head deck. A Denon Dr-m24hx . What would you say, if I said, I can't hear the recording adjustments I make live through the monitor function, but later during playback the adjustments made are clearly audible ?

nothing like having a 3 head deck if you do a lot of recordings; this way you can do any adjustments AS the tape is being recorded, no need to wait to the end to find out that the Volume or the Equalization were not PERFECT; of course, a 2-head CANNOT do this, only a 3-head can.

can anyone tell me why my two head sony tc-ke200 can record and play back at the same time?
is it just an audio passthru or what?
also if anyone has any idea why the vocals dissapear when I have LR balance in the center?

Was just wondering. I am wanting to have the ability to view vu meters on my system. If I have a three head cassette deck, does recording have to actually be engaged to view the meters?

It's mind boggling that people rush to make "explanation" videos when they clearly don't understand what they're even pointing at in their own diagram pictures... dunning kruger effect example at its best.

It's also complete nonsense that any 3 head is better than any 2 head. 3head is just convenient, it doesn't actually offer better quality. If you're recording high quality mix tapes for all your cassette friends, it's definitely better (more convenient and faster). If you play cassettes and record something once in a while, and you have 5 minutes to adjust bias on a nice 2head deck, you'll be just fine with a 2head (and it'll produce amazing results)... It's really more important for your deck to be calibrated and cleaned and regularly used than for it to be 3head or 2head.
