If car is not starting, although turns over fine, or starts but lacks power, it could be because of misaligned timing belt marks, slightly off timing marks, slipped timing belt, or timing belt not installed correctly. It's always bit tricky to make all camshafts and crankshaft gear sprockets marks align with the ignition timing marks especially for dual over head cam vtec engines, shown is a Honda H22A engine with balance shafts; This video will show a trick on how to set the timing belt marks for dual over head cam engines; Honda Odyssey, Pilot, Acura TL, MDX, Civic, Accord, Prelude engines can use this method along with many other DOHC engines that are difficult to align timing belt marks.

Good tip with the slight misaligning before tightening the tensioner. I recognize the engine. Is it an H series? I just got my H23A running
