At 8.4 oz for a size large you can have Alpine Grade Weather Protection. Though the MSRP is $380 for this older version of the jacket; I was able to purchase a Brand New One in Forge Grey for around $180.00 and A used one from ebay for $100.00 pluse $12.95 Shipping.

The newer version with 3 pockets costs a little more at around $400
and weighs about 1 oz more, the hood is not as good, but the additional pockets make it a little nore urban friendly.
