Nearly half of the 1,000 borrowers surveyed believe boycotting could lead to all student debt being forgiven, while 3 in 4 respondents also said they think a boycott would be "somewhat" or "highly" likely to help elect politicians who support loan forgiveness.

Some of the write-in responses from borrowers inclined to boycott loan repayments include:

"I simply do not have the money."
"We have not been paying for so long, so why not just do away with the student loans?"
"Because I think some of the loans are predatory and unfair."

Our youth is being strangled to death with student debt and unfair wages. People can’t afford to even live on their own anymore. Housing is too expensive these days. I would love for y’all to do a segment on that. On how many multi families are having to live together. Or how many young college grads can’t afford to live on their on own. I have family that has many members living under one roof. Sad times

I have paid that loan four times over with all the tax refunds they took from me and payments made. Interest has blown it completely out of proportion to unreasonable amounts. I’m done.

If I don’t pay my credit will go to shit and even tho “I’m not gonna buy a house” is an argument. You need good credit to rent an apartment too. Or get a credit card, or a car, or literally anything. I’m not saying I don’t agree with the spirit of it, but I’m not about to mess up my credit for a boycott.
