Judo vs Sambo

This is a local match of a Samboist vs Judoka. Sambo (WHITE) vs Judo (BLUE) Grappling match.

That throw at 2:07 was the reason I start training judo and boxing with bjj.. It was my first tourney, and a nice south korean dude hit me with that throw.. And I was like yeah, Bjj doesnt train enough takedowns.. We are always like 90% of fights go to the ground.. yeah but I dont want to go to the ground by punches, or getting slammed. I love being a mixed martial artist now

Judo is more eefective than wrestling/bjj in a street fight....can you imagine if a judoka throws you to the concrete floor

Judo and Sambo are basically the same, just different rule set. Sambo has more of a wrestling flavor because of the many forms of Russian folk style wrestling that influenced it. In case you didn't know, Sambo was created by two Russian wrestling coaches who went to Japan to learn judo.

The power of judo is just amazing. In this case it beats sambo but I’ve also seen judoka (kodokan and kosen) submit BJJ practioners on the ground.

For those who dont know judo is the blue jacket and sambo the white

Probably every famous Sambo fighter also practices Judo, either directly like Fedor and Khabib or indirectly like Islam (since his coach, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, is also a Judoka). Maybe there is a reason for this.

I wonder when the people who set up matches and tournaments are ever going to figure out "We need more space to move around or else we have to stop the fight ever 5 seconds"....

If Sambo had chokes in it it would be a better system.... but you can go on and on with this argument in grappling. Gi no-gi bjj striking included etc etc. Combat Sambo it a pretty good system like MMA but wherever you put your effort you will get the results.. So lets say a wrestler lerns to strike etc etc its about being well rounded in skill set and in condition.
