Why The Weasley's Refused To Fight In The First Wizarding War

The Weasley family probably took the most hits among the Order in the second war. Arthur, Bill and George 's injuries, Ginny almost dying and then actually losing Fred. Just as Molly never fully recovered from the loss of her brothers in the first war, George never truly recovered from Fred's death.

Why wasn’t Molly Weasley a Hufflepuff? With a kind, warm heart like hers! And also the ability to cook using magic, like Helga Hufflepuff!

Remember Molly’s boggart, fear of losing her loved ones. She lost her brothers in the first war, she would not have risked her babies. Remember Voldemort and the death eaters didn’t just kill those who opposed them, they killed their ENTIRE families. Molly would not have put her babies in that kind of danger. They probably did help behind the scenes, but not openly.

simplest answer a bunch of little rugrats...william, charlie, percy, the twins, and ronnie in Molly's belly. The Weasley special magic/ family magic is fertility. One fanfiction I read had someone joking if you let 1 weasley into the ministry they would breed enough to take over the entire ministry.

Wonder if they were quiet assassins, and the “wholesome family” was a cover for all the bodies they piled up

I want to take a minute to appreciate the editing of this video. Bravo! Amazing work!!

And the Fabian and Gideon image! They look like twins.
How they were also named with same letters as twins Fred and George. ... Could it had been possible?

And I i think Arthur and Molly has always been a quiet, peaceful family. Staying together was their priority during the first war.
Whereas for the second war, they were more involved, due to their protective nature towards Harry. The whole family was attached to Harry (well, except for Percy) so they all were vulnerable targets this time becase of that. Plus, Arthur and Molly's kids were considerably braver than their parents.

-Bill was so brave, he worked breaking curses.
-Charlie was literally hands on one on one with dragons, I mean, dragons the size of buildings.
-Fred and George faced Umbrigde. Also volunteered to pose as a polijuiced Harrys in the 7 Potters mission.
-Ron faced evil and dangers since he was 11, alongside Hermione and Harry (but like his parents, he was too attached to his family, that was his weakness)
-Ginnie dueled Deatheaters in the Department of Mysteries, faced snape when trying to get the Sword of Griffindor, dueled Bellatrix one on one in the battle of Hogwarts.

Assuming Arthur Weasley's contact with the Imperius Curse during the attempted takeover of the Ministry, this may explain several things.

1. Arthur may not have been considered trustworthy by the Ministry after the first war, at least until he was cleared of effects, making him suspect. Either during this time (to keep him under watch) or afterward (to reward his loyalty, but reduce his exposure and to take advantage of his love of Muggles), moving him into the Muggle Artifacts Department would tick all the boxes. In addition, Voldemort would be unlikely to look for recruits there or have interest in a group studying what he despised.

2. With Arthur's presumed "demotion" to Muggle Artifacts, the path to promotion and increased pay would be at least curtailed and possibly blocked all together, explaining the family's reduced means. The Borough may have been a starting point for the young family, however staying and curtailing upgrades could be a result of the job path blockages as well.

3. Workplaces, being the political spaces they normally are, Arthur's coworkers may not have been particularly accepting after he was cleared of the Imperius Curse and declined to work directly with him, again preventing his job advancement. Arthur has an agreeable and winning personality, so the effects of him being completely blocked were reduced, however it is likely he would not be welcomed or sheparded to workplace advancement.

Can you do a what if video where James Potter survives that night? Like instead of killing him Voldemort merely incapacitated him (stunning or knocking him into a wall or something) and Lily still sacrifices herself, so things still play out similarly just that James is still alive. How does this changes things with Harry being raised by his father?

I think it wouldn't matter much if they joined in the 1st war. They chose to start their family, and who are we to judge them for that? In the 2nd war I find it interesting that all of them took part in the war. I just don't understand- Why killing Fred? That loss broke my heart to pieces. If J.K. really wanted to kill a Weasley so badly she should have gone with Charlie. Also let's understand why Molly defeated Bellatrix it has 2 reasons- 1.The fury of a mama Bear on the women who mocked Fred's death and tried to kill Ginny. 2.Harry gave all of his allies a love protection like Lily at her time gave him. So Molly wasn't that skilled because I think that without the love protection she would have lost. I wanted Andromeda to come and take down her sister and it ended up with Molly instead.

Great video, but I have to admit, I only liked it because of the ending :-) I just forget sometimes

I wonder....Do Wizarding families always build their own houses or do they move in to existing Muggle built homes and alter them magically? 🧐

Arthur and Molly were a good few yrs below James, Snape and Co.

The first war and order of the phoenix was occurring I'm going to guess when they were both nearly ending their School life

I might sound a bit paranoiac or over interpretative but... Mrs Weasly spoke about this urge in her relashionship with Arthur during the very begining of the first war. Don't you think she...might have been purposely insistent. Arthur with Molly but without children might have contemplate to join the order but, leaving behind him a wife and two children, it asks more cold blood judgment, even worst, indangering the whole of them. And if he dies, in the service of the order, what the death eaters would have done to them. He worked even on week end you said: "They ask you too much Arthur", yeah, but sure she was reassured by knowing he was in the safest place of the wizzarding world, having no time to do some things rash or daring... as she knows he was the kind to do.

Shouldn't First Wizarding War be named First British Wizarding Civil War? Kinda mouthful but way more accurate than FWW.

Same goes for second one.

I think Dumbledore's hesitation to strike and kill Voldemort and his followers got better of him and Order's members.

You cannot compromise with evil. Like Avatar Roku said
"I should've been more decisive"

And ofcourse if good wizards asked muggles for help, I am sure British military and law enforcment would make a quick work of Voldy and his goons
