Why are you testing on the asymptomatic side second? Shouldn't you do that first to see the range, if it clicks etc?
Then compare to the contralateral symptomatic leg? And is it pain and clicky sounds when moving the limb distally or proximal and/or both?
Thanks in advance

I suffered a acetabular fracture from being hit in a head on collision back in 2016. I live a very active life style. Here lately I get extremely sharp pains in the joint near the groin area. If I’m laying flat on my back in bed I can’t even lift my leg without feeling pain. Could this be FAI?

I had mri showing husitis and possible labrel tear.... orthopedist said most people have labrel tear but thats not where pain comes from... does that sound correct? 🤓

It's very similar to mcmureays test this McCarthy test isn't it. I imagine a click would also happen due to hip flexor pathology or tightness

My pain is in the groin while doing these moves and also it's severe pain above left hip, did mri, x-ray, but the orthopedics thinks there's nothing wrong...

Based on what I've read and seen, I don't think I have hip impingement. I only feel pain in my left hip while standing on my right leg and (1) lifting my left leg to put on a sock, or (2) lifting my left leg to put inside my paints. I can walk/hike, run in place, workout with sandbag training, squat, etc. with no pain. The only time I feel the pain (and only in my left hip) are the two situations noted. I also discovered then other day when moving my the "duffle bag" I use for sandbag training that if I use my right leg to move this bag a little, I can move it pretty easily, but when moving it with my left leg/foot, it's noticeably weaker. Any idea what this could be? It's been there for months and causes me such little problem I've ignored it.

Hello? I am a man living in Seoul, South Korea. At the university hospital, Hip joint CAM type was informed after surgery that if you cut more bones, you will get avascular ecosis of the femoral head, so you couldn't cut a lot. The doctor explained that pain after surgery should be lived like that for the rest of your life. Is this true?

What if my problem is that I can't bring my (left) knee as close to my body as the other one, even when I try to use my arms to pull it closer? It feels like something in or around the left hip is blocked somehow. My left hip doesn't seem to move as easily, either. The orthopedic doctor told me I was fine!?

Is there any other specific test to confirm FAI clinically?
