These seven ways we can love someone was developed from his triangular theory of love, which includes three important components: passion, emotional intimacy, and commitment. 1. *Infatuation (Passion)*
You aren’t necessarily compatible or have much in common

2. *Liking/Friendship (Intimacy)*
You’re very at ease with one another can be yourself around them

3. *Empty love (Commitment)*
Romance and closeness aren’t strong. You focus on being together


_2 components love types_
4. *Romantic love (Passion + Intimacy)*
You desire for one other and are very intimate with each other
Can be seen in affairs

5. *Companionate love (Intimacy + Commitment)*
This love is built from strong trust, devotion and emotional closeness. There is no romance and it can be platonic.
Can be seen in close friends, family and married couples

6. *Fatuous love (Passion + Commitment)*
This love is filled with Passion and part Commitment but lack Intimacy
Can be seen in courtship and arranged marriage

Couple can have great sex long after marriage
Are happy to be with each others company
Can’t imagine being with anyone else

My friends were shipping me with this person and they said things like 'you obviously like them' and stuff like that. This made me believe I did, when I didn't. They asked me out the next day and I said yes, but three days later I realised I never actually liked them, which put both of us in an awkward situation. It caused a lot of stress for the both of us.

My grandparents reached the ultimate lvl. Over 50 years together, still holding hands. They love to spend time with us, but when everyone leaves... I think that's when they feel happiest. I was *very* blessed to experience consummate love with my late husband, Tim. We only had a short time together, but we were the best of friends *and* lovers! I find myself in love with him to this very day, even though he's been dead over 25 years. It's been painful at times, but totally worth it!

This wasn't mentioned in the video (i think) but i feel like Platonic love would last longer than romantic love, you can fall out of love fairly quick in a romantic love unlike platonic love where, yeah you can break a friendship, but it'll be more painful, just my opinion tho...
