Why does France have the best geography?
First of all, the hexagon country have extremely strong natural borders, 5 out of 6 sides being almost impenetrable. The only weakness is this massive plain in the north-east side, which easily allow armies to invade France and quickly reach Paris. Germany capitalized on this weakness in both world wars.
On the other hand, France has a large network of rivers which allowed it to become one of the strongest country in Europe in terms of agriculture.

For those unaware of it, the battle of France in WWII was not an easy piece for Germany. They lost 1/2 of their airplaines and 1/3 of their tanks. The French army was sacrificied to save the English army in Dunkerque. And the Maginot Line actually worked. The reason the Maginot line was not extended is because of ... Blegium. Who theatrened the ally to leave the coalition if France build it. And French Etat Major doesn't want to lose their alliance with Belgium because they prefered to have to fought on Belgium soil than France. All these bad strategical decision plus others factors lead to that humiliating defeat.
