Holy shit, my home town was the second one! Engelberg switzerland is nice small mountain town with two different ski resorts! Plenty of tourists and wonderful to visit (45 min from Lucerne)

That rural village in the beginning overlooks Meiringen Air Base which is one of the Swiss Air Force’s 3 main airbases

Norway is quite similar on this. And has quite a bit of underwater mapping too. You can download the terrain height map without or with buildings online at any point, and if you're a business that can show any reason to need it they will compile data specifically for you and send it to you customized to your needs

Switzerland 🇨🇭 puts a lot of effort in their maps. Already in the 19th century the Swiss general Henri Dufour created a very detailed map of Switzerland. Switzerland also has a huge network of marked hiking trails.

I live in Switzerland and on Google Earth you can see that in my village the mountains are in 3D but not the Houses😂

If you think Switzerland is cool, you should nerd out about the High Country of the Andes (the Altiplano), the Valle de Mexico, the Vale of Kashmir, etc. All very vibrant cultures that developed in the safety of intermontane valleys.
