Pugachev was the first to display this maneuver, but it's a Swedish "invention" of the Draken interceptor. It was called the "kort parad" meaning "short parade".

The first clip you showed wasn’t a cobra, it was a maneuver called Kvochur bell

During WWII at least one pilot did a maneuver called "An inverted vertical reversement." Full back stick, full bottom rudder, the prop torque rolled the aircraft, neutralize the the controls and then pull out of the dive. He'd end up disappearing from his opponent 2000 feet below him. And on at least one occasion the pilot was able to pull a snap shot and shoot down the aggressor when he passed by during the roll and revercment. Pilots were built differently in those days.

The Swedes did this long before the Soviets/Russians in the Saab 35 Draken, it was when the Soviets saw the Swedes do this over the Baltic Sea they started to try to replicate this, they managed to do this a few years later.

It was Swedish pilots who invented this maneuver. It happened in the 1960s with the Swedish aircraft Draken. In Swedish, this maneuver was called "Kort Parad" (Short Parade). Pilots Bengt Olow and Ceylon Utterborn are credited with this maneuver worldwide.

The spinning cobra thing is the Kovchur’s bell manuever and the normal cobra is Pugachev’s cobra manuever.

It's an airshow maneuver. In real life it just presents an easier target for an incoming missile or guns shot.

What was the maneuver when the enemy fighter did a spin vertical flat almost impossible like a facing spin the gen 5 fighter didn’t when Tom fired a missile at it ?

Idk much about aviation but wouldn’t that just make it a bigger target for missles or guns?

2 Questions

With the way you guy are able to engage from beyond visual range, is this even a useful move now?

2. How close would you have to be for this to be an effective maneuver?
