In this video, I will show you how to load an A3 map template in QGIS. There are two ways to do this:
• By copying the *.qpt template file into the hidden QGIS template directory
• By loading the template file directly into the layout

Using map templates speeds up the process of making professional looking maps, and you should always use a map template to save time, and make sure you don't forget any important items.

Thanks for the vid - If I'm using a template to move layouts between different project files, do you know why the map doesn't display prior to clicking 'set map extent' which works but looses the scale/frame ie. the reason for the template. Is there a way to check what it's referencing?
