Fun Fact: Laureles was actually designed by a French city planner who wanted the streets to look like those of Paris. That is why you see the horseshoe design of the calles.

FyI, the ladies in Medellin seem more feminine only because they have warmer weather. They dress more freely. Also, there is probably more plastic surgery. But dating wise, Bogotá girls will be nicer to date. My humble opinion.

I've been to many places of Colombia in the past 4 years. Bogotá D.C. is still one of my favorite city. My advice is to live north of Bogotá, such as Chía or Cajicá.

Traffic is the same as LA lol but food, people places to go out, bogota is SUPER underrated and people hate on it because of the traffic and always changing weather. We’re moving to either bogota or Medellin in January 💪

The difference between the expat communities in Bogota and Medellin, and I am an expat living in Bogota for the past six years, is that the expats in Bogota are more professional, less digital nomads. We aslo don't gang together in one or two neighborhoods, but rather are more spread out is what is a much bigger city. If you want culture, there is no comparison between the two. When it comes to theatre, music, art, cinema, and literature, Bogota has much more to offer. I am biased, but I would never pick Medellin over Bogota. Bogota is the beating heart of Colombia.

I think Bogota is definitely more dangerous in general than Medellin. A lot of paisas who have lived in bogota even say that the rolos (people from bogota) just look the other way when they see someone getting robbed. In Medellin if you are getting robbed in public and people take notice they will get involved and help you, many times the thief ends up getting a good beating too, that just doesn't happen in bogota. The rolos aren't as community oriented as paisas are. Also next time check out Zona T and Usaquen, those areas are more similar to the vibe in El Poblado than Candelaria is.

I stayed in Chapinero (Calle 60 y Carrera 9a). It’s really weird because some blocks are “intact and normal” then there are some blocks where it looks like a bomb went off.

Look at how close The Bronx (yea it’s a neighborhood in Bogota) is to the tourist areas

I am not sure if you make comments just to get people to reply. I have only lived in the two cities you mentioned here. I lived in Candelaria until age 15 and I go back to Colombia every year for the last 22 years. I also have been living in Los Angeles for 35 years. In addition I visit Medellin often. The 3 are so different. So, please make a new video. In my opinion it does not make sense to compare Bogota and Los Angeles.

1. Next time you go to Bogota, make a 3 by 3 grid of the city, Maybe not squared but rectangular please take a taxi during the day and at 2 am (and you must not catch the same taxi, you need to find a new taxi to take you to you Candelaria hostel) otherwise is not fun, and tell them to drop you off near the center of that grid. Now, walk around the area, make a video, make a review of the area. Compare each of those 9 grid areas to Los Angeles both during the day and at night. But walk just you and your camera, don't bring your wife and crew to film. I did have an LA Asian friend who actually tried this in the Tunal area some years back. The taxi driver advised him against doing it. They arrived, he got off the taxi, looked around... Then... Looked again. Got back on the taxi when some guys started approaching him and went back to his safe area.

Now, yes, neighborhoods change every 5 minutes, but they just don't compare. Los Angeles is very safe even the worst 20, 30 % of the area at night. I have ridden my bike in South Central, I have a home there when I was young. It is a depressed area economically, but still manageable to move around. Bogota is the opposite, I say about 20 to 30 % is safe to walk around at night. Walk long enough, you might likely find an unpleasant situation. Even if you don't, you will feel the emptiness because people in most of those 9 grids don't venture out at night, it's pretty scary. Just like Hector Lavoe said in his song, "La calle es una Selva de cemento, de fieras salvajes, como no" he was talking maybe about the Bronx in New York, but all over Latin America there are cities where this song applies, that's why you still hear this song is Latin America. Anyway...

Go to Kennedy at night, go to Bosa and Suba. Get out of tourist spots to feel what Bogota is. Also the women in Medellin have historically been one group that originally settled there. There has been some internal migration and they are a little more diverse in Medellin now. But Bogota is the melting pot of all the cultures of Colombia. That's where people from all over Colombia come to make a living. It's a hub for this nation. It has been the stepping stone to leave to foreign countries. Also, please don't blame Bogota women for the weather they must dress different from the rest of the country, 😂 except Tunja... In Bogota you cannot wear what you wear in Medellin or Cartagena as the nightfalls. Don't compare LA and Bogota. Look, LA is cold at night only from November to like March. How about Bogota? Every night in Bogota, mostly at 4 to 6 am is f**ing cold!!! Every day of the existence of Bogota it will be like that. Some nights are worse when the rain hits, that is often. So, never in my life will I compare the two because this weather does affect what people do and how people act, dressed, etc.

I know people that got robbed in all areas of Bogota, good and bad, not just outside the airport, also in North Bogota, etc. I never heard that here in LA. Never.

Chapinero, what part? From 45 to Calle 70th, I m not sure how safe or nice it is... I won't even compare it to Medellin at all. Near zona T is more similar. But the weather, zone That night or parque 92 is just too cold, never like Medellin.

Yes, Bogota is more cosmopolitan, you can find anything you desire there. Great upscale living if you like and have the money. But just bad infrastructure, bad weather, dangerous overall, crowded. Kind of sad for the "12 million" you claim live there. Except for well to do, those that do the opposite of what you do, they take a weekend 3 hour flight to Florida, Miami, Orlando to then return after shopping and visiting. The rest are stuck living in Bogota because is where the economy moves in Colombia.

What do I like about Bogota?

My memories as a child/teen going to school, running in the rain, a lot more in the 80's.

Visiting the nearby towns and forest.

The fact that most flights arrive here, so it's a gateway to other cities,

The food. So many cuisines, high end and show like restaurants.

The Brazilian style BBQ, "carne a la llanera" spots both in the south and Chia and many places. I love steak grilled llanero style, so good in Bogota. But you can also find it in bucaramanga, Medellin, any city, mostly during the weekend.

Lots of beautiful architecture. Amazing building tas you move north from Candelaria. Not south, at all.

I’m genuinely at a total loss how you think bogota is safer haha. Seeing you walk around with your camera downtown leads me to believe that you might not realize how dangerous it actually is

You gotta hit up Cali soon bro, but practice diligence because in my opinion and from things I have seen, it potentially has the most beautiful girls in the world there. Which is so odd given how dangerous it is. I have talked to some people from there via IG and even they say it does feel dangerous

I was just in Bogota a week ago (now I’m in medellin) and I couldn’t wait to leave Bogota the woman weren’t nearly as beautiful traffic was ridiculous it’s always raining in bogota and cold and yes Bogota is actually less safe people and the rough areas are really bad (I was all over bogota) it’s actually a little more expensive as well which sucks so I’m def pro medellin

As a European it is funny to hear someone talk about places to visit in Bogota 😂 It is the worst city I have ever been to. I have a long list of bad things about Bogota and 0 good ones.

Bogotá is cold, rainy and boring with one of the biggest woke population in Colombia. No wonder you didn't feel the feminine energy, maybe many of them are into gender ideology. The reason there are many places to visit is because it is the capital but I never feel happy when I go there.
