Forty years ago, 40 British and Irish musicians met at Sarm Studios in London to record a song that would become a pivotal moment in pop culture.

Bob Geldof was so moved by the shocking news report from a famine-stricken Ethiopia that he, along with Midge Ure, assembled an incredible line up of iconic 80s artists to record 'Do They Know It's Christmas'.

Completed in less than 24 hours, it became the fastest selling single in UK chart history selling millions of copies and raising millions of pounds to directly help save lives in Africa and created a charity that, 40 years on, continues to fight famine.

Made with support from the Band Aid trust, Ben Jones presents a special two-part documentary telling to story of Band Aid and talking to the bands and artists that made it happen.
