Love this method, had all but 1 of my 2lb+ perch on it. 1&1/2-2&1/2 inch live bait always works the best for me.

A quick stop hair hook work well for half a lobworm as well when barbless hook only

Its a bit of a challenge fishing with a bait that can be universal across different species. I have a private pond where i live that has Bluegill sunfish, Black bullhead catfish, largemouth bass, goldfish (these were feeders for a bass my brother kept), and Black Crappie, often times when im fishing for bullhead i use nightcrawler worms. Blugill love nightcrawlers and will clean my hook sometimes (as well as the turtles will pick up my bait) every now and then i find a big grasshopper and use it for catfish, bullheads love big grasshoppers (crickets too).

My biggest perch have come to Avon flat fished gudgeon, in close, in the margins, plus many more perch, and decent chub too, top technique..
