This comes straight from my heart because I see so many people every week on here that are struggling with engineering and want to quit the job. It’s freaking hard, I know! But you’re not gonna quit today or tomorrow. I know this video turned into a mini pep-talk but sometimes you need to hear it with a bit more enforcement. So, YOU’RE NOT QUITTING TODAY.

ABOUT ME
🙋‍♀️ I’m Maria, an Engineering Manager at a big tech company and I’ve been coding since I was 13 years old. I love working in tech because building new things and being creative is something that makes me really happy. While on this journey, I realized how lots of questions I receive in 1:1s get repeated a lot so I decided to upload short and simple Q&A videos on TikTok which grew to a small amount of followers. For some questions, I wanted to dive deeper with longer answers which is how this channel started. Thanks for being here – my goal is to help some people out and make their lives at tech jobs more effective.

I hope this helped some people. It energized me a lot when I can figure out how to make people more motivated. I’d love to know if there are other areas that you struggle with so I can respond with another pep talk 💕

As long as you never quit, you will never fail. Because you only fail when you stop trying.

it's amazing to tell right away that you really care about mentoring engineers and helping them grow. I wish I get an engineering manager like you for my first role as an engineer!

I started learning how to code just a few months ago and almost quit! I'm slowly getting it piece by piece. Thank you for this video. I subscribed.

what i struggle with the most is being patient lol I like being fast and efficient that when I can't find the solution to my problem I become irritated BUT i think that's what I enjoy the job. I like not knowing something and then being able to figure it out. There's times when I can't figure something out and have to rely on others and I become worried that I may be relying on others too much and that would make me a bad engineer/teammate.

I'm in my late 20s now, and last summer, since I decided to change my job and situation, I've been learning every day, step by step, not too intensely but not slowly. Thank you for your solid advice, which is charismatic and engaging for beginners like me.
I've watched this type of videos many times from different youtubers, and the key I concluded is consistency and the right material to study. It's great to hear valuable tips from a long-year software engineer, and I'll keep that in mind..!😇

thanks, I'm just a little confused to combine everything in my head into html, javascript and css with the samsung chromebook that I have now. Sometimes my visual studio crashes after I install various materials, but I still want to keep learning. Which makes me eventually can't get away from the code.

yes the video did help a lot, something about Tech learning is that you sometimes want to give up especially when you get into errors you have no idea how to fix but by trying you end up getting it done. Thank you for sharing!

Greetings from Germany <3
