Deadlink - How to unlock the Engineer combat shell!

In order to unlock the Engineer combat shell, you have to make it to the pre-boss safe zone of the second level, which is the Watts-Rucker area. This means that you have to play through all of the second level areas until you reach the safe zone right before the boss battle with the Phoenix Apex.

Once you reach the area, proceed into the second part of the safe zone. As you start to get closer to the entrance to the boss fight, you will hear some ticking, and then an explosion. A door will be blown open close to where the entrance to the boss fight is. Head through the blown open door, and interact with the Shell. This will unlock the Engineer combat shell for you to use on future runs!

I just want to point out that since this game is procedurally generated, the zone right before the boss fight may be different than what is shown in my video. Having played through a few runs now, I DO believe that these areas look the same each time, but I am not too sure since this was my first time making it this far. Let me know if it varies! I will update this as I find out more, but for now, this seems to be the method in getting the Engineer unlocked.

Do you have to finish the game one time first? I wasnt able to get it on my first run, I was trying because I played it before the full release so I knew where to go but I thought I was maybe missing something

i just reached the 2nd boss but the door didn't blow up for what ever reason...
