Before Game Theory, Film Theory, etc, blew up, MatPat's main work on YouTube was studying the algorithms and determining the most effective way to get your content out there. He was able to turn it into a profit by helping other YouTubers, and he still does this to help ensure his videos reach as far as possible. If anyone knows how to work the system, it's MatPat.

Matpat was part my childhood. I used to watch your videos when i was a kid, you smosh, fred & annoying orange, but now i'm an adult. it's strange to think how much we've grown together. your videos have been a constant in my life, providing entertainment and laughter. so, while i'm sad you're retiring, It’s so bittersweet because we’re losing one of our favorite creators, but we get to know matpat gets some well deserved rest. I thought that as well. My idea was if I ever started a channel I’d post multiple videos at once at first
My reason being is whenever I find a new YouTuber I’ll binge watch their videos even if I don’t like them that much at first (tommyinnit was one I found annoying lmao) but It gets people hooked and then they can’t wait for the next video

This is something I follow with comics on webtoon as well! Always start with at least 3 because the reader will be asked to subscribe :)

By launch I'm presuming he means starting to put yourself out there with advertising and such. It's absolutely fine to make the channel before you make any videos but the first bunch should all be uploaded at once in that scenario

Being able to choose when you quit rather than being forced to quit because of irrelevancy is a blessing, it’s almost like you got the good bittersweet ending in a video game rather than the depressing bad ending.
