What If You Lit a Match on Jupiter?

Показать описание

Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System. It’s 300 times more massive than Earth. But it’s less dense than our home. Uh-oh. Looks like somebody left the gas running on Jupiter. Don’t do anything stupid, like lighting a humongous match. What would a match need to be made of to ignite the gas giant? How big would it have to be? And how much damage would this explosion do to our Solar System? Would phosphorous be enough to cause an explosion on Jupiter?

humans: let's lit a match on Jupiter

*You guys can stop arguing now, I already remember my password and able to correct the spelling*

"There's one big catch that you didn't account for."
Me who already knew that you need oxygen for fire: I have accounted for that

"Man tries to light Jupiter on fire, instantly regrets it

But not in a way you'd imagine"

I’m pretty sure this is the reason we’re not near any other life forms, literally trying to figure out how to set Jupiter on fire, fully fleshing the science out for it. 😂

Makes man made hydrogen bombs look like a fire cracker in comparison. Sod the match, use a blowtorch 😂

Man these videos or almost any video doesn’t do justice to the amazing size and beauty of these planets

Please consider doing this one, been asking on every video and post you guys make for over 2 months:
What if we kept growing at the same rate after puberty ended? How large would we be by the time people typically die from natural causes and how hard would living be? In this scenario people would be built to take the extra physical stress from getting as large as possible.

I was going to say that you couldn't start the match without o2 but you already cleared that point up. Interesting videos

Amazingly superb.
Especially to nature.
Not to nature, but particularly to what if.
Not to what if, especially, and only to Jupiter. Hats off

6 minutes can be summed up in one word: Nothing.

I would imagine everyone knows fire is a chemical reaction between fuel and oxygen.

Is there a possibility to create chemical combustions that are uniquely reactive even in oxygen lacking environments? Or is oxygen required for any and every reaction?

Fun fact, since Hydrogen when burnt in oxygen produces, well, water, that water will cool down the process
You can try chlorine though, if I am not very wrong, it is another molecule, besides Oxygen that can reduce Hydrogen fast enough to create a chain reaction

When he said atmosphere composed from 90% hydrogen and 10% helium my dreams and hopes were destroted before he even mentioned the rest... If only oxygen wasn't necessary for combustion
