What If Earth Orbited the Sun at the Speed of Light?

Показать описание
Every year, our planet makes one full trip around the Sun. And while that means we’re already moving at breakneck speeds, we’re about to ramp that speed up. Like, way up! Let’s turn Earth into a planet-sized spaceship and crank it up to light speed. What would happen to Earth if it started orbiting so fast? And what would it be like to experience this all from down on the ground?

00:00 What If Earth Orbited the Sun at the Speed of Light?
02:05 How fast does Earth currently orbit the Sun?
02:35 What would happen if Earth's orbital velocity increased?
04:53 Where would we get enough energy to speed the whole planet up?
06:03 What's the worst that could happen?

What if Earth was placed, in terms of distance in space, approximately 5 inches closer to the Sun from where it is now? Would the polar ice caps melt?

The universe is just so interesting 😩 the way everything works and the laws of physics.

once again, the legend cameraman deserves applause for going into space and simultaneously teleporting while recording to give us this beautiful visualizer

Or what if the orbit stayed the same but if we slowed down Earth's rotation a little to where everyone would have more time each day than just 24 hours. Like if the rotation slowed down to where there were 48 hours each day and it was rotating half speed? Maybe that could make our lives easier who knows.

Another day, Another information

Thanks dude 🥰

Excellent video. Just a small correction, according to the doppler effect the frequency is reduced rather than increased unless and until the observer is moving towards the star which also happens so technically not only light will be shifted to x-rays, but also infrared. Also another effect would be more dark matter detections

4:18 You don't need to break physics law. You just said, you turned erath into space ship. So it has light-fast-speed-engines. Just atach more engines for manouvering/steering wheel and stuff to keep erth close to sun. No problem with enough computing power. And btw thanks for making finaly cear you knbow the infinite mass problem, so all haters need to shut up. But why you don't just take 99, 99% speed of light? Almost all effects would be the same.

thanks for making topics clear and easy to understand!

So, I guess this is related to Kepler's 3rd Law. Which states that: the squares of the orbital periods of the planets are directly proportional to the cubes of the semi-major axes of their orbits.

Before The Earth do the rotation with speed of light, we all died already.

I just realised that stars are living creatures with dedication, just not with our criteria of life.
