Glad to see Joplin has a table tool, can't wait to start making my own. Thanks for the video!

Joplin lets you to edit your notes in your default text editor because text editors like Vim, Notepad++, or others support more robust editing functions. If you work with plain text a lot, or you're not on Windows, you've probably already discarded Windows Notepad for a more robust text editor. Opening your Joplin notes inside that editor lets you do to your Joplin notes anything your text editor can do. I often open my Joplin notes inside Notepad++ for complex editing, put the Notepad++ window beside the Joplin window, and every time I save in Notepad++ I see the changes inside Joplin in real time.

As a replacement for big Apple notes quickly filling up my iPad I was looking into Joplin before. Besides various (paid) online server options like DropBox and alike, you can also use a free local Joplin server so you can edit notes across various devices locally (probably even remote?). Some NAS devices may have it built in via Docker or something (my old one doesn't have that). It appears still in development stage. Haven't tested it yet.

I'm using it to conduct web research and clip pages. It's great for that. I love that it is free. I just back it up with my normal online back up provider.

I like Joplin more than Evernote because your notes are all on your computer (even though you can sync it to cloud services).

Very comprehensive, thank you. Only thing we might be missing are mobile apps overview👍

The PC version has limited RTL support (for Right-to-Left languages). That's unfortunate esp. since it exists for several years now

I'm not sure what your native language is, but your English is perfect. Great video!

I will play with this but I don’t see how it compares to Onenote.

This is NOT a Note-Taking App, it is an encrypting and syncing text editor!

Beside what you say and what the developer may think, a Note-Taking App as understood by the majority of people can replace a paper notebook and therefor needs the ability to use a pen to draw stuff.

Otherwise, it's a great App!
