Joplin | An Open Source Notes Application With Data Synchronization 📝

In this video, Trevor Sullivan explores an open source note-taking application called Joplin. Joplin works on major desktop operating systems, including Linux, MacOS, and Windows, along with Android and iOS mobile devices. One of the best features of Joplin is the ability to synchronize notes data using cloud object storage, or alternative data storage backends, including Dropbox, OneDrive, Joplin Cloud, and others. For data privacy and security, Joplin supports using encryption keys to encrypt data before it is synchronized with cloud storage.

Joplin uses the familiar Markdown syntax to apply formatting to notes. Most developers should be familiar with Markdown syntax, as it is widely used on other platforms, such as GitHub, GitLab, and many more.

I wholeheartedly agree with your choice of date and time formats, having served in the military and in several countries who both use the 24 hour clock and sensible date formats along with the metric system... Although I was born in the USA, I am not crazy about our system of measures.

I decided to use filebase S3 to sync. I also downloaded the portable version of joplin and installed it on my veracrypt drive so it's also encrypted st rest. But i mostly use it with my mobile devices and with dex when im at home. I created a table template as well as a toggle list template so it's fully functional on my mobile devices.

I only use the Todo notes because they are nearly the same as regular notes but with todo notes you can add reminders

I just learned a ton about s3 syncing thanks. I've been using onedrive but I might try backblaze

I've got it setup with backblaze and I'm getting frequent errors on Joplin saying: The sync target needs to be upgraded before Joplin can sync. Do you have any idea about this?
