I remember one time I had AntiRabies shot in my Right Leg. After 3 days, the area became red and swelling. At first, I thought it was just a rash but a day after, the swelling grew larger. I didnt paid much attention to it until the third day, the area was totally swollen, red, hot to the touch and painful! The redness also spread. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Cellulitis. Was prescribed some powerful antibiotics (the doctor said it has already spread). The medication took around a week until the infection went away. So glad that i decided to have it chrcked!

I have just returned from hospital after spending 8 days with life threatening cellulitis. It was so painful that it disabled me. I could not stand or sit in a vertical position and had remain in a horizontal position. I had very high blood clot risk and felt lucky to have survived. In hospital I was treated with intravenous antibiotics for 6 days then went on to oral antibiotics. This is scary stuff.

Thank you Doctor for this information, my dad is suffering from cellulitis, during his radiation therapy they all came out, he was diagnosed of prostate cancer, he got a lot of cellulitis on his legs, head and his back almost all over his body, last week he was unable to walk because his feet get inflamed, the dermatologist gave him clindamycin for 7days and antibacterial soap, toner and cream, after 7days the cellulitis healed and we were very happy, and then today 9day after taking clindamycin i saw some of the healed cellulitis has redness and a lil bit inflamed again😢, i hope tomorrow he will be fine and redness will go away

I have had cellulitis every year for more than ten years on my legs/ankles since i was like 18, at first i didnt even go to the doctors for it, either am lucky it used to go away on its own or its something else, i started to go to doctors for it after figuring out it can actually get worse without treatment about 3 years ago or so. It always looks just like cellulitis but after all these years i started to doubt its actually cellulitis to be honest.

I was seen in the ER and was diagnosed with cellulitis and an abscess. The doctor further opened it and drained it. I feel better but hope it heals soon. Antibiotics are my friend at the moment.

I get cellulitis from mosquito bites sometimes. I have lymphedema from cancer treatment so I get very concerned. I have had to take several rounds on abx. I went 18 yrs without any abx. until cellulitis. I went to ER for it the first time. Thanks for this video.

I'm surprised you're still answering questions nearly a year later!

I have cellulitis on my calf and have been on antibiotics for a few days now. I don't have pain from it nor from the infection area anymore, but the affected area is still very red and warm to the touch at times. Should I go back to my doctor for more medication or should I give the current antibiotics a few more days?

So I got cellulitis about 10 days ago after being admitted to the hospital from a full red foot from toes to knee and a bit on the groin area. I’ve since been discharged with Cephalexin medications and was taking IV meds in the hospital. I still have foot pain when walking and my foot looks like it has skin burns, bubbles, and yellow puss discolouration. The would care specialist says it will take weeks. I can walk but still have some minor pain. Will this cellulitis heel or am I doomed for life?

Cellulitus, imagine being stung by a thousand wasps all at once. Never known pain like it, and was hospitalized for three and a half weeks. Watched as blisters on my left leg started developing and the redness started appearing, followed by the black area around my ankle. Foot swelled to the size of a melon and my toes nearly disappeared in the swelling. After receiving Fluxocillin capsules, which by the way are absolutely useless against Cellulitus, i was put on Teicoplanin antibiotic via i/v for 3 weeks. Glad to say everything has calmed down and an MRI has confirmed the bacteria is no longer present. I am now Doxycillin for the next month and have an Ultra sound to check for any blood clots. I never knew Cellulitus was so common, and a painfull condition if left untreated.

Hey I just wanted to share that many many people get cellulite, both men and women. It’s unfortunate to see more shame being created around it then there already is. It is very normal. Perhaps it would be beneficial to you and your patients to speak more neutrally about one’s physical appearance.
Otherwise, thanks for the good information on cellulitis. I found it helpful.

Hello Doctor. I have the infection. The doctor removed the pass only where I saw it but it's left somewhere. But am admitted for the Antibiotics in a form of a drip. How long will I stay in the hospital?
