How did the Pandas in Kung Fu Panda forget how to use chi? Well according to The Paws of Destiny, pandas originally became deeply connected to chi hundreds of years ago because the pandas established their first village above the source of all chi in the universe known as the Wellspring. But everything changed when the creator of kung fu, Master Oogway, discovered their secret village. This would inevitably unleash a great villain upon the pandas who would completely destroy their way of life.

The disconet truly was a huge moment. With each generation beign born in peace and without the connection their original way of life was lost. Thankfully Po corrected that

My best guess is that, because the pandas saw that their way with Chi could be corrupted, they stopped teaching it to their future generations in hopes of preventing the same mistake from occurring. Over time, they forgot.

The easiest answer would be that kai destroys the panda village that teaches chi I mean oogway is strong but he and kai are the same rank in the army so I would suggest it takes more than one fight for oogway to finally stop his old friend and after the fight the village is left with young children who did not know chi cause kai took their parents away from em jaded or not and then in the third movie we know that Po's father moved to the village with the other pandas from shen land and settle at the secret village this making all the pandas in the village non chi practitioners

The disconnect from chi certainly made the pandas lose their ability to use that power and those who were masters of chi essentially faded away or were likely taken by Kai. When Kai took an injured Oogway, the village they found likely was one of the few places where the pandas learned how to harness chi and teach others how to use it. But after they lost their connection, it simply became nothing but a distant memory from long ago as no living panda was able to use chi anymore.

I think that Oogway and Kai went to a different village because in Kung fu panda 2 Po’s village used to live in Shen kingdom. When Shen wanted to kill them they moved to their secret village. For me the real question is how did Po’s dad forget how to fight as we in Kung fu panda 2 he was a warrior and in Kung fu panda 3 he had forgotten everything

Lord Shen said he killed all the pandas but he didn’t. With fourth sequel to kung fu panda, I hope no one tells that evil peacock 🦚 that there are more pandas around besides Po.

My personal theory is that the Chi users were more likely targeted with priority and the few survivors weren't chi masters forgot about their ways and were more concerned about survival
