You say there's not a big difference when it comes to fps but what people need to know is that the 120 fps of the Black edition are necessary if they want to do slowmotion (which is to me the main interest of the gopro) if you don't want to do slowmotion shots then you could go with the Silver. Otherwise great explanations ;)

Since the black produces more heat at 4k/30 it carries a larger internal heatsink. As a result of the larger heatsink the LCD screen had to be dropped. 
If shooting at 4k/30/PT I would strongly recommend NOT running the camera with a bacpac attached, and NOT using the closed back door of the housing, so that heat can easily escape from the rear of the camera!

Im going to get a go pro for Christmas and I've been going back-and-forth with the session hero 4 silver or the hero 5 black I've been keeping my eyes on the hero for silver for snowboarding and hockey and also for playing with my friends for YouTube


Or the hero 4 black but I've been kinda leaning away from the hero 4 black cause no touch screen. Let me know your thoughts but maybe I'm wrong on the black

Great review, thanks for the review!  I'm aimed to buy the Silver now.  4K is just too much data to edit, and seriously... 4K youtube videos seem a bit overkill.  720-1080 is generally what we view anyways.
