My father's ship in WWII had a bad anchor accident. Something let go, a heavy cable whipped across the deck cutting a sailor in two and the anchor was lost.

My uncle was a sailor in a big fisher boat. Once the anchor chain got tangled with a loosen rope left behind by a rookie. Though he was out of the chains path, he got hit in the leg by the rope, and broke his tibia and peroneus just with the whip-blunt of the rope being pulled by the anchor. Lucky enough they were about 100km of the shore and an medicalized helicopter could take him to an hospital.
Amd he was so lucky, if he had been hitted by the chain, he would had his leg ripped off in the best case scenario.

Equally as dangerous is the mooring lines, I was on this trip in the Carribean and one of our Indian crew stood too close to it, his head was gone like throwing a very ripe fruit on a wall. Can you imagine a very heavy cable whipping like lightning and that loud crackle, it was terrifying. Basically, it was the worst day of the job and probably of my life after seeing that. RIP my man.
