Saruman may have gone bad in the end but in this fight we see how much of a badass fighter he can be.

Galadriel is said to be based on Mary, mother of Jesus. In the scene where she claims that she is not alone, she holds Gandalf like Michelangelo's Pieta. No coincidence that she is referred to as the lady or my lady by different characters.

The extended version makes the first bit where Galadriel saves Gandalf so much cooler. She is the best character in Lotr and hobbit hands down. Would watch a whole trilogy about her

Loved this scene. It showed the utter balls Galadriel possessed, the bad-assery of Elrond and Awesome paladin-Saruman before he went bad. <3

Galadriels clearly really powerful, but her power is different than what the film portrayed. She helped win the war by keeping Saurons forces away and swamping Minas Tirith. She also helped the team get to and destroy the ring. Without her gifts it would not have occured. She also saved Gandalf and healed him after he fought a Balrog. She used her clairvoyance to see things and help change the course.
