I did Malenia in roughly 4 and a half hours, I didn’t count attempts but it was definitely over 150. Level 160ish STR-DEX build, dual curved Greatsword (Bloodhounds Fang +10, Omen Cleaver +25 (Bloody Slash Ash Of War)) I also had a +10 Banished Knight Oleg summon partway through the fight. Man that was a good time

Did a golden boi play through as tree sentinel and I can say it was actually very fun, but I also used incantation’s, because my faith was both my shield and damage 😅

with most horse dudes like sentinal and loretta typically the only safe place to attack them is shield side as the sheild attacks are easy to predict and dodge all other sides typically are covered by relentless attacks and little to no attack windows (unless you use dagger or something)

Don't worry Woolie I also play mouse and keyboard. Also, charged heavies cause you to attack again if you unclick during the attack. You have to keep holding down until the attack has fully ended. An annoying glitch but workable. Congrats on Melania!

This video gave me a confidence boost lol. As I see you as a very good gamer that did challenges I would never have the patience for.
But my first time beating Malenia, where I also didn't do any cheese strats, no spells, no parrying, just plan old melee and dodging, i took me around 60 attempts.
I recommend EVERYONE to at least try and beat Malenia purely melee with no cheese strats because that is really where her design shines the brightest and you actually learn to appreciate her 100% fair and challenging moveset instead of becoming like all of those crybabies in the community calling her moves straight up unfair.

Also Woolie, you are wrong about her "one shot moves", her grab where she impales you is not a guaranteed one shot at all. It heals her WAY more in a single hit compared to her other attacks, but it is entirely survivable. With 60 vigor and some medium-heavy armor it should only take off like 60-70% of your health bar.

Being good enough at the game to beat Tree Sentinel right out of the cave on your second playground (after a couple tries) is so satisfying. I had to do it thinking it would take hours and it wasn't that bad.

2:00 Woolie, I can heavily recommend this tiny utility called Cursor Lock. You just run it when you need it, hit a hotkey, and now your mouse is locked into that window. No more clicking outside the game whether you play windowed or borderless.

(Also play on a controller like a REAL Souls gamer, you filthly casual.)
