Free Undamped Mechanical Oscillations

If friction is neglected, the oscillations are free undamped. This oscillatory motion repeats itself identically during a constant time interval. The block oscillates between two fixed extreme positions, Xm and - Xm.
In free undamped mechanical oscillations, the object oscillates with constant amplitude with a period called natural period To.
In the absence of any driving or damping force, an oscillator oscillates with its natural period. The natural period is the minimum possible period of free oscillation.
