Strawberry Pie Recipe * 100 Year Old Vintage Recipe

Grandpa loves to bake and since it is strawberry season, decided to make a strawberry pie. Plus, he knows that I love strawberry pie and haven't had one in quite some time. He used a recipe that is over 100 years old. He got a little creative with the top crust and made a Five Star Strawberry Pie.

That looks wonderful Grandpa! Very patriotic!I love real strawberries but just like tomatoes, they can keep the ones in the grocery store. The first money I earned was picking strawberries. The farmer made us whistle so we couldn't eat them. LOL! 🍓❤🍓

Looks good Grandpa. My Mom used to make strawberry pies from scratch too with fresh picked strawberries. I used to work at a family owned rib house in my early 20s and he paid my Mom to make strawberry pies to sell. This is my favorite pie.

I never made a strawberry pie, but Grandpa’s pie looks so good, I’m going to try to make one for 4th of July. A lady who lives about five miles away from us owns a strawberry field! We go there and buy four pints at a time and share some with friends. All summer we use strawberries in both fruit salads and green salads, and I do make cobbler, but I’m the only one who really likes cobbler.
This strawberry pie is the prettiest pie I’ve seen this year! Thank you, Grandpa!

Love the receipt and will try it for the 4th ! Yes, lemon juice makes it better. We use a few drops on a bowl of cut-up berries too. So nice you both make things each other like.

Wow, that looks so good, Grandpa! Makes me a little sad I'm getting store bought strawberries with my grocery orders, but I sure can't "pick your own" any more. It was always a favorite thing to do, make a little jaunt back out east to a "you pick" and return with lots of luscious, fresh picked strawberries, to freeze, turn into strawberry daiquiris, and eat out of hand. Grandma, I think you got it right, having that yummy pie while still warm.
Man, I need to go have some breakfast now, you both are making me hungry! Plain yogurt with strawberries sounds about right...😁
