How to attach Ikea wardrobe to the wall

Do you know how attach Ikea wardrobe to the wall? Because of their height, for safety reasons wardrobes and all other tall and bulky furniture should be arttached to the wall. To prevent accidents, anchoring your furniture is one of the most fundamental steps you can take in rendering your home a little safer.

Anchoring furniture is actually pretty straightforward, it usually come equipped with wall-mounting hardware to keep them from tipping over

In my video I attached Ikea Pax wardrobe to the plasterboard wall but this method will also work for other types of furniture. Ikea provides the metal plate, but not the fixings.

I used:
Cavity Wall Anchor Metal M5 x 52mm Plasterboard Drywall Fixing:
Cavity Wall Anchor Metal M5 x 65mm Plasterboard Drywall Fixing (only screw):

NOTE: Different wall material requires different types of fixing devices so double check what is suitable for the walls in your home.

I removed a part of the skirting board and screwed the wardrobe directly to the wall. This has the benefits that there is no dirt behind the wardrobe. It's the best solution in my opinion.

IKEA never provided my with the screws for the wall, are they sold separately
