Creole Cornbread Recipe - Cornbread is a staple of Cajun and Creole cuisine. So if you've never had then you're in for a real treat!

Creole Cornbread Ingredients
2 cups Cooked Rice
2 large Eggs, room temperature
1 cup Whole Milk
1 cup Yellow Cornmeal
1/2 cup chopped Onion
1 - 2 tbsp chopped Jalapeno Peppers
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Canola Oil
1 (14.5 ounces) can Cream-Style Corn
3 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese

**** Note ****
To level this Creole Cornbread up even further add these ingredients:
1 tbsp Creole Seasoning (I strongly suggest Creole Kick)
1 tsp Cumin
Small Shrimp can be added as well
2 - 3 tbsp chopped Jalapenos with seed for that bite!

Enjoy!

This is the most beautiful cornbread I have ever 72 years of age, I have seen and made a lot of cornbread. I'll be having some with our homemade vegetable soup tonight. Blessings, Jo Ann in Mississippi

When handling hot peppers I usually rub a small amount of any cooking oil on my hands, that way you can wash your hands and no residue of the pepper juices remains on your hands.

Hi AB, I just made your cornbread for the first time and it was love at first bite!!! Actually it was love at first sight when I saw you sharing your delicious recipe with the world. As soon as I got off work I ran to the store to get all the ingredients, came home and made it, and now I am experiencing pure delight!! I took a photo to share but it looks like there’s not a way to upload a photo here in the comments section. My cornbread turned out gorgeous and delicious thanks to all your great tips. I will never need another cornbread recipe for as long as I live!!

Just made this recipe with grits instead of rice, fresh corn instead of cream, and a shallot instead of onion. I used what we had! But it turned out great so thanks for the inspiration

After watching your video, it looked so good I wanted to make a pan right away with what I had. I substituted canola oil with vegetable oil, creamed corn with sweet whole kernel corn, whole milk with 2% milk and left out the jalapenos. Baked in the skillet at 350 for 47 minutes, then let it cool for 15 minutes and I'm telling you this stuff was delicious! And you're right about it not needing anything on it! Just perfect! Thank you so much from South Carolina! Who dat, YOU DAT!!!

Thank you for posting this! I made this tonight for dinner with the yams and collards and fried some porkchops. My cousin and son went back for 2nds of the creole cornbread and my baby doesn't even eat yams but he loved these. Next time I'll add more jalapeño seeds to it, I'm a spicy girl but I had to tame the spice for my grandmother. This is my 4th time trying your recipes.

I made your Creole cornbread & it was very good! Wanted to tell your listeners that this bread is very
moist and flavorful. It also lends itself as a stuffing for birds and crumbled, as a side dish. The spices
can easily be modified to taste. And then, it's a darn good snacking bread! Thanks.

I'm from Los Angeles (area), CA and never been close to New Orleams or the south, but I love Cajun and Creole (Southern Cooking). Maybe it's in the genes (my dad was from Mississippi.) But I am definitely going to try that recipe. I love to cook and try new things. Thank you Chef.
