I was never a fan of Studebaker, (except for the Golden Hawk) but there was a white '60 Lark Convertible with a blue top a few houses from my friend's that I was in love with. Just something about the simplicity of the design appealed to me at the time. A LONG time ago.

Beautiful car. Kudos to Scott for preserving it!
Thank you Scott and Lou. I enjoy these videos :)
(All of them are a trip down memory lane for me.)

This is one of those, "Where did this thing come from?" cars. Very nice. I have always like Studebakers.

Had TWO of them (in Maroon), way back when. Dad brought one home in about 1961, and when I needed a car (about 1964) for work, I found one that ended up repainted the same color. Dad's was very reliable, other than his insistence on re-capped snow tires (stay under 50MPH) (or else!), and a few minor issues. Mine was a piece of junk, but decent when it ran. (Which it didn't always....)

I don't think I've ever owned worse, but it was an experience for a teenage driver. Kept me out of trouble, too. Six-bangers. Dad's was a three-speed automatic, and mine was a three-speed manual. Good learning tool.

Stunning car. So cute, you feel you got to have one. People forget how revolutionary the Lark was. It was being built in an age of 59 Cadillac land yachts which would be twice as long. Fins and sheer size were on the way out, efficiency and practicality were in. These cars sold extremely well, and were for a time real winners. My first Studebaker was a sibling to this, a white convertible over red. Identical down to the manual drive. It had an elegant feel to it being built by Studebaker-Packard, with 165 years between them. After this and a later Champ PU, I swore off ever having another manual car. Too damn much work. It's like being in a rowboat. Takes a lot of attention in the age of fast food and smart phones.

What a fantastic car. An oil filter was an option and was mounted on top of the motor as seen in the video. I had a '59 Lark with the V8 back in the 60's that did not have an oil filter.

Sweet looking Studebaker. I used to know someone who had a 1959 Lark. His was a 4 door sedan. :)

My God. We had one of these growing up. A
'60 convertible. My dad had it painted powder blue.

Excellent choice Lou. I know. very little about Studebaker offerings of this period or any period. Didn't know there was a convertible Lark.

Nice video. Have you ever noticed. The window and door handles are the same I had in my 53 coupe. He needs to set his mechanical lifters interesting they are so noisy. Have you ever ran into someone with a Lark with high performance extras I had a 60 lark. Thanks Lou

Incidently it is a very pretty little car that offered sporty models not covered by Plymouth Valiant and Ford Falcon at the time.
