The song I listened to with my first love at age 14 in 1972. Still listen and love it today.

After years of trying I finally learned all the lyrics to this classic song. I'm so proud of myself!!! Rock on, Elton!!!😋😋😋❤❤❤

One of my favorites by him.

Lately I've been imagining a new version where, instead of repeating the first verse, the third verse would be about a happy ending. (Suzie coming back into his life, like she didn't love the foreign guy anymore, and the Crocodile Rock becoming popular again)

My high school does a rock and roll revival where students sing song that are at least 20 years old and a kid sang this song and I cannot get it out of my head

I was in Gr 1 or 2 when this song came out. I insisted my parents buy me the 45...and played it over and over and over...
I had the good fortune to see him live in Winnipeg in 2010 or so? His Number Ones tour. Just about jumped out of my seat with this one.

A great nostalgia song that could only be current to me. Being a young teen at the time, I just didn't care about that one. No real time reference, you might say. Still making Crocodile Rock always current to me.

I remember when rock was young
Me and Susie had so much fun
Holding hands and skimming stones
Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own
But the biggest kick I ever got
Was doing a thing called the Crocodile Rock
While the other kids were rocking 'round the clock
We were hopping and bopping to the Crocodile Rock

Well, Crocodile Rocking is something shocking
When your feet just can't keep still
I never knew me a better time, and I guess I never will
Oh, lawdy mama, those Friday nights
When Susie wore her dresses tight
And the Crocodile Rocking was out of sight

Laa, la-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
But the years went by and the rock just died
Susie went and left us for some foreign guy
Long nights crying by the record machine
Dreaming of my Chevy and my old blue jeans
But they'll never kill the thrills we've got
Burning up to the Crocodile Rock
Learning fast as the weeks went past
We really thought the Crocodile Rock would last

Well, Crocodile Rocking is something shocking
When your feet just can't keep still
I never knew me a better time, and I guess I never will
Oh, lawdy mama, those Friday nights
When Susie wore her dresses tight
And the Crocodile Rocking was out of sight

Laa, la-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa

I remember when rock was young
Me and Susie had so much fun
Holding hands and skimming stones
Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own
But the biggest kick I ever got
Was doing a thing called the Crocodile Rock
While the other kids were rocking 'round the clock
We were hopping and bopping to the Crocodile Rock

Well, Crocodile Rocking is something shocking
When your feet just can't keep still
I never knew me a better time, and I guess I never will
Oh, lawdy mama, those Friday nights
When Susie wore her dresses tight
And the Crocodile Rocking was out of sight

Laa, la-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
Laa, la-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
Laa, la-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
La-la-la-la-laa
