1-on-1 with Metallica's James Hetfield on music and life

Metallica's lead singer and guitarist, James Hetfield, sits down for a one-on-one interview with Josie Dye from 102.1 The Edge. Hetfield opens up about the band's charity performance held at The Opera House on Tuesday in Toronto. He also dishes about his life as a musician and how Amy Winehouse was the inspiration to one of Metallica's songs.

I've had the honour of meeting him a coupla times; the first time was back in '86 in London, and as much as he's chilled somewhat, he's still the same as he was back then - honest, sincere and just a pleasure to talk to. He seems so calm and grounded. When the journalist tells him: "Thanks James it's an honor" he just goes "Ohhh...I appreciate it, thanks" and handshakes. Such a simple word and move, but shows how cool this guy is.
