I honestly don't know why y'all show them sympathy when they never show us black people's sympathy. You stupid if you think they don't talk about us black people 24/7 and we don't have dreads for the same damn reason blacks do it spiritually others do it because they wanna be us that simple💯☺️

As a white man who lives in the u.k and had dreads for 6-7 years. The most hate I got about my hair was from other white people 😂.

He is right. You can say you got them because you like them, thats fine but you can't just say, "All black people got them because they like them." You arent even a single black person, not to mention all black people. Lol.

Do what you want, it's cool. Just dont speak for anyone else.

One day after taking out my weave, I remember I didn’t feel as pretty with it & didn’t want to leave the house to go to the hair store. From that moment, I started my loc journey to go against the weaved up beauty standards & I’ve since even dropped makeup! #natural

I started my Locs after my two year fight with cancer. For me it’s deeper than the current trend. However, everyone’s journey is there own. Regardless of race or style. My reason isn’t your reason. And your reason isn’t mine. The thing about cultures is they are diverse and spread amongst other cultures. That’s okay and honestly a blessing. We can all learn from one another. I do agree, that one person can’t speak for an entire group. Our stories are our own to tell. #locd&lovely ❤

As a black person with dreads who has been constantly harassed for having dreads in my predominately white county all I have to say is leave the poor man alone. It literally doesn’t matter if he bas dreads as an asian dude. My white cousin used to have dreads and they were beautiful. Had to shave them when he got a new job and he regrets it every day. Let people live, please.

I have locs because I’ve learned to love myself as a bw. I spent years going to the Dominican salon. Spending my money to keep up with a look that wasn’t me naturally. My husband came to me with a fade a low cut. And now his locs are well past his shoulders. My daughters locs are all the way near her buttocks. We’re proud of our locs. My daughter tells me everyday she’s so happy to look like me hair and all. I’m happy that I didn’t ever start straightening her hair. I could care less WHO has locs but I have mine for reasons such as self love and that’s a journey. Also for me locs are far from a point of vanity. It’s actually was a terrifying process to commit one’s self to the locs. And the phases of my locs sometimes were hard to look at but every phase was me. Naturally me.

Asian guy: *assumes black ppl as a whole get dreadlocks as an aesthetic, dismissing a variety of other reasons that range from spiritual, to protective styling, to personal journeys of self love as well*

Sunn: You can say you got them for Aesthetic reasons, but don't speak on the reasons for a people/culture you dont know.

The comments for some reason: Uhm ACTUALLY, You guys cant Gatekeep a Hair Style, Because Vikings, and ACTUWAUALLY My FAVORITE Rapper is Snoop Dogg, So I Give All People Permission to Wear Dreads, Get TF OVER Yourselves Yew dont OWN ME, I L00k GREAT IN-

Like I get that it's a knee jerk reaction to be weird to black folk but come tf on. Yall needa use our grown up ears and unclench ur jaw.

aring.

His dreads look dope who cares about his race. It's his hair, I do believe we all have our reasons my love are intimate for me I'm black.
I love locs but whoever wants to have them can I don't think it's as intimate as my reasons but that's me
They are cultural, religious, spiritual, powerful ties to history & deserve respect.
