On dry hair and scalp, apply tea tree or peppermint essential oil (orange or lemon essential oil if the scalp is sensitive). Then apply shampoo to the scalp only with an applicator tip bottle. Cover hair with a plastic bag for 1 to 2 hours. This will allow the essential oil to kill bacteria on the scalp and give the shampoo time to break down the oil and dirt on the scalp. Then go into the shower and shampoo as usual.

Might I also suggest using an old t-shirt to dry your hair instead of a towel? Towels will often leave those lint pieces behind that gets tangled into the locs. T-shirts dries the hair without the fuzzies. I always dry mine and my client’s locs with t-shirts.😉

Microfiber it flannel pillow cases are highly absorbent and gentler on your hair than regular towels. Talls tend to have those loops in it that your curls just love to connect with😂😂😂

You gotta blow dry them locks bro especially if they are getting thicker. Air dry don’t work as well. Get a bonnet hair dryer

Since I got straight hair. I palm a role with a micro fiber towel to dry my hair most of the way then air dry the rest.

Didn't use a towel, it will leave lint. Rather you should use a full cotton white T shirt 👍

Depending on your hair type, if you've bleached or using saltwater spray, you may need a diluted conditioner designed for locs, but be sure to rinse thoroughly. 😊 and for the love of your locs oil before and after..

Soooo, I’ve been washing them like this for 4 years because I didn’t have a tub. But I’ve found a better method (no offense). I feel like this is the cleanest my locs have been since I started. They smell SO fresh. Shampoo your locs with a clarifying ACV shampoo (I use OUAI Detox) as you would normally in the shower. Here’s the fun part: Fill up a large tupperware container with water while you shower, stick half your hair in the container to agitate the water and scrub your locs around with one hand while you hold the container with the other. Then repeat on the other side. You’ll fill up the container a total of at least 4x for mid-length hair. Now, if you have a tub, that’s what you should be using to soak your locs.✌🏽😎

Use a silk head scarf your dreads are starting to thin in the front most likely from wearing hats or hoods and over washing your dreads will cause them to weaken in growth rate

Do not use a towel guys towels hold dust and it can get in your locks and make it dirty again
