Fun fact: When the emperor announced the end to his people, it was on radio, the first time most Japanese heard his voice. And since he used Palace Japanese nearly nobody understood him.

The Japanese military was also extremely divided, with its army and navy acting more like rival war clans than a united military force.

The Japanese can be pretty terrifying when you face then in combat, especially when they get close to you *CoDWaW flashbacks *

Japan's history is one of great irony and tragedy. A unique kind of history no other nation has and might never will have...

Japan is like the first of many Asian countries to enter into their modern era.

No wonder japan is a world power, they have nine tails, the king of the pirates, a one punch man, a super saiyan and more. We're considered lucky 🤣

As a Malaysian, I can say that what they've done to our ancestors here are brutal beyond imagination, when they conquered the Malayan peninsula.

Fun fact, Demon slayer mangaka based the story in the Taisho period when everything is starting to modernise but the way of the samurai was continued in secret

I've watched a few of these vids now and I'm definitely subscribing xD love the way you break down complicated (and often brutal) periods of history with vibrant animations. One thing though, the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan in August, not March. The USS Indianopolis didn't even bring the parts for the bombs to the Pacific until July 1945 (and was sunk that same month).

It was not March 1945 for the nuclear bombs it was on August 6th Hiroshima and 9th Nagasaki. I love your website I can spend hours catching up on your older ones. I didn't find your site until a few weeks ago. Keep up the great work.

At the history intro, it felt like Mihoyo get the idea for the Inazuma region with the closed-country policy.
